I am mighty, hear me bark!
When I yip and when I yap
I can match the thunderclap!
With my howl, I wake the moon
Soon, the pack and I commune
I’m the leader on this block
Of my kingdom I take stock
Every post here bears my scent
I’m the goddamn president!
I am feral, I am wild
I could hunt and eat your child
I could bite it, down it whole –
if it fit inside my bowl
But I’d rather beg for treats
Sitting pretty at your feet
Not because I have no choice
Or because you give me toys
Or because you give me grub,
kisses, pats and belly rubs…
Let’s just get this one thing clear:
I’m the only alpha here!
